Meet Pizza And Luna, Two Former Street Cats Living Their Best Life Together

For Pizza the ginger tabby and Luna the torbie, they did not have an easy start in life. But luckily for them, their stars would someday align thanks to a kindhearted couple with big hearts. Pizza was the first cat to come into their family, a date night turned rescue mission for a sickly kitten who clearly needed their help. And once Pizza was all doctored up and on his way to flourishing, they knew they needed to find him a friend to be his best pal. That’s where Luna comes in, a precious torbie kitty who was found as a skittish feral kitten. Now the two spend their days never having to worry about going hungry or being lonely again.

Everyone, meet Pizza and Luna, a sweet pair of cats who are joined at the hip and living their best nine lives!

I caught up with their owner with some questions I had on this purrfect pair, so keep reading to learn all about these two cats who had fate on their side.

1. How did Pizza and Luna come into your life?

My husband and I went to get pizza for dinner one night and on the way, we saw a sick stray kitten on the street. We were lucky the kitten ran towards us and we picked him up in a jacket and went straight to the vet. Pizza was severely malnourished, dehydrated, had an eye infection and his chance of survival was not good. There were many times we thought he wouldn’t survive, but he was a fighter! It took him months to fully recover, many sleepless and stressful nights from feeding and caring around the clock but absolutely worth it.

Before Pizza’s first birthday, we thought Pizza would like a companion and would be young enough to bond with a new kitten. So we found online a small rescue group that had Luna for adoption. She was a rescued feral kitten and we thought she would be the perfect companion for Pizza. Luna was found on the streets with her siblings and mother who was pregnant with another litter. She was completely feral and was super shy but once we brought her home she purred so much! She fit right into our home with Pizza and they’re inseparable now.

 2. What are their personalities like?

Pizza is a very lazy boy! He loves food and he is also very affectionate. He loves to cuddle in bed and gives lots of head butts and slow blinks. Luna is full of energy, loves to play, and purrs a lot! She also can play fetch and brings the toy back! Luna loves butt scratches!

3. Do you have any fun nicknames for them?

Pizza has many variations – Pizzy, Pizzu, Pizchooku! Luna’s nicknames are Luna Bug (she loves chasing bugs) and Little Luna. Together they are called Spagooters!

4. Where are you guys located?

We live in Sydney, Australia.

5. How did they first react to each other when you introduced them?

Pizza was very cautious when seeing Luna for the first time. Luna couldn’t wait to sniff around and play. Pizza needed some time to process there is a new kitten in the house!

6. What’s something special you’d like people to know about Pizza and Luna?

You would never know now they were both rescued feral cats from the streets. They’re so affectionate and have so much love to give! I would love people to be inspired by Pizza and Luna to consider adopting an animal in need.

I’d like to give a special “thank you” to Pizza and Luna’s owner for allowing me to share their story and photos with all of the Cattitude Daily readers. If you’d like to keep up with these two cuties on social media, check them out here on Instagram.
